What the product is
CheapAI currently sells a Universal Key with prepaid balance. After payment confirmation, you receive access details that let you call the CheapAI endpoint and spend from that balance across the supported model table.
What you receive
Access details for your order, setup information, and a key that works with the supported model list.
What you do not need
No required pre-signup flow, no plan picker maze, and no separate per-provider checkout.
How balance and billing work
The balance you buy is the balance loaded onto your Universal Key. Requests deduct from that balance using the CheapAI rates shown on the public pricing table. The discount ladder reduces what you pay at checkout. It does not reduce the balance value you receive.
If you choose a $25 starting balance, the delivered balance is still $25. Any checkout discount changes the amount due, not the balance value.
Supported tools
CheapAI is best suited to tools that support a custom OpenAI-compatible provider or base URL. The current public docs cover direct SDK usage, Claude Code, ChatBox, and broader developer-tool integrations.
- Direct API calls, curl, and OpenAI-compatible SDKs
- Claude Code and coding-tool workflows that let you point to a custom base URL
- Chat clients such as ChatBox when they expose custom OpenAI-style provider settings
- Automation and orchestration tools such as LangChain or n8n when they accept OpenAI-compatible configuration
If your tool hides the provider configuration or only works with its own hosted backend, CheapAI may not be the right fit for that specific workflow.
Delivery and support
Delivery is now positioned as instant after payment confirmation. Order updates and delivery details are sent by email, and the same order can later be viewed in the customer portal if you sign in or claim it.
- Guest checkout is supported
- Order claim and portal access are optional
- Telegram support is the fastest human support path
- Email remains important for order, payment, and delivery updates
When CheapAI is a good fit
| Usually a good fit | Usually not the best fit |
|---|---|
| You already use OpenAI-compatible tools and want one balance across multiple model families. | You need a tool that only supports a locked first-party provider flow with no custom endpoint support. |
| You want lower public rates than official list pricing and are comfortable configuring an API client. | You need a fully managed enterprise onboarding process or product promises not described on the site. |
| You prefer guest-first checkout and optional account management later. | You expect a completely no-config consumer app rather than an API-style developer setup. |
Before you pay checklist
- Confirm the tool you want to use supports a custom base URL or OpenAI-compatible provider.
- Read the matching integration guide before you buy if your workflow is unusual.
- Use an email address you can access, because order and delivery updates are tied to it.
- Keep the pricing table nearby so you understand which model slugs and rates matter for your workflow.
